Osean "Jolly" RogersOsean graduated from Texas A&M Galveston with a Bachelors of Science in Marine Transportation/Navigation and a USCG Unlimited 3rd Mate Maritime License. After sailing as Navigator, Safety and Cargo Officer aboard tanker, bulk cargo, ro-ro, and container vessels, he began working with Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Lead Ranger, Interpreter, Wildland Firefighter, First Responder and Water Operator at multiple State Parks and Natural Areas throughout Texas. An avid waterman, Osean enjoys surfing, fishing, sailing, scuba, and coastal, lake and river kayaking. Born in San Antonio, he developed a love for the outdoors, camping and exploring the Texas Hill Country with the guidance of the Boy Scouts. He founded GKO as a way of helping others sharpen their kayaking and maritime skills to nurture a better relationship with the natural world, specifically the jewel of the gulf coast, Galveston Bay.
